Taps - Minimum Size?

Other than what's mentioned in 240.21 (B)(4)(7) (Taps Over 7.5 m (25 ft) Long/ (7) The tap conductors are sized 6 AWG copper or 4 AWG
aluminum or larger) and section 210.19 (branch circuits), is there a minimum size a conductor needs to be in order to tap from it?

I may not understand your question, but if you obey the tap rules of 240.21 and you protect the tap accordingly, there is no reason you can't tap as small as a # 18.
