TC-ER-JP cord -

Other wise known as Tray cable. But, this cable is special - made by Honeywell it's a product on the market called "Genesis P/N 1070-14 AWG 4/C THWN-2 / THHN CONDUCTORS MINI SPLIT 12517 (UL) TC-ER-JP DIRECT BURIAL SUN RES (RoHS). - which is screen printed on the cord.
Its specifically designed for use with mini split AC units. It looks like it has all the properties that one would want to use for the application. However, the outdoor unit I inspected was on a roof top of a commercial building in one of the five boroughs in NYC. So all is well and good - supported - kinda with tie wraps to the seal tite. But, here's my issue the TC cord penetrated the roof and was routed "concealed" through the ceiling in route to the indoor unit. TC cable is covered in Article 336 of the NEC but I dont see anything about it being concealed. Does it fall under the do's and dont's of Article 400 ?

Is this in compliance? Please help. Thanks

Sounds like the installer made a mistake, I think it needs to be in a tray or raceway unless its in a one or two-family dwelling unit.
