had some canopy lights that had been converted to compact flourescent. Found one that had not been converted, with a compact in it and a 100 watt mercury vapor ballast still connected. Sometime after the bulb was exchanged for a new one a fire occured. Bird nest were found all around the fixture. I think the fire was caused by the fixture not being bonded. The ballast has a thermal overload. any thoughts about the wrong bulb screwed into the fixture. The overload should have keep the ballast from overheating even if the wrong bulb was installed
