Hello!
I have a question for the group.
When running the TBB conductor between an IDF and MDF closet on the same floor, can the conductor be installed in the tray between the two rooms or does it need to be installed in conduit? Also, can you point me to a Code reference please.

Thank you!
Randy

This is not an area that the NEC covers. It does require protection from physical damage for a GEC, and a #8 GEC must be in a raceway. Run your bond in the tray, or use PVC. There are others with more experience, and look at BISCI or NEMA recommended practices.

As Tom pointed out, this is not covered by the NEC, so there is no Code reference.

This will completely be based on the Contract documents you bid from or they reference. There is no clear standard that requires it one way or the other, so you get to pick if there is no direction in the specs or drawings.
