What is the rule on telephone wire support that not encased? I looked in the NEC 08 and read though the 800's and all i could find is,the building can support the wire, anyway as long as the wire can't be damaged by use's of the building. Can anyone help me in this matter?I have to get a low voltage permit but there's no direction in the installation?Other than wire size and type's of low voltage circuit's.

Thank you,Stafford Electric

I would talk to your ahj beforehand to get his thoughts. But no exact rules that I know, just use the correct type of wire, keep a separation from class 3 circuits, and support where practable. Say 6ft or so. Make sure to use cmp or cmR where required.
