temp cables question

Do you know why PD is the answer? If you do, wouldn't you think it might be a good idea to point the student to where he/she can find the answer instead of just giving it to them?

Yes, and yes...

...and I also think providing only the answer to the question asked may teach the student to ask the appropriate question, or questions. It might save their life some day.

Not that I consider you a student by any means, but I pondered posting only my entry comment to this reply and nothing else. Even you seem to side-step the follow-up question, "Where can [I, we, the student] find the answer?", and instead ask me about my thoughts on doing so.

The answer to the OP question can be determined by first going to 590.4(B) for feeders of temporary installation. It states that cable types must identified for hard or extra-hard usage in Table 400.4. Of the choices available in the question, Table 400.4 lists Type PD as the only one not so identified.
