Guys trying to come up with 2500A temp power conductors/cable. Distance is only 30' and CU & AL feeder MC is too large for the guys to work with. Based on suggestions was thinking about cheap cable tray and cable. See no other real way. Someone mentioned to me SOOW but it doesn't come large enough. Thinking you guys had to have temped this size out in the past at some point. What did you use?

What kind of physical abuse is potentially suspect to? If not much or well protected - just run some PVC conduit, easy to install and easy to remove compared to most other methods, normally less cost as well.

Aluminum MC cable, not sure why parallel 30' runs would be a problem to install.

To get 2500A we would need (6) sets #900 AL MC. The guys in field are saying both CU and AL MC #500 and above is really just used for a vertical/riser install?

What do they suggest? If the distance is so short then just run EMT.

Where does this originate? I have in the past changed the chip in a feeder breaker to closely match the expected load during construction. Cheaper than wire that was not needed.

4/0 soow cord. But I checked and it doesn't come that large. Need conductors for 2500a.

PVC might be better.

I would use EMT and save yourself the cost and time of pulling a 350 kcmil EGC in each raceway like if you used PVC.
