How would you get temp light(light stand or two) or power for a small 500 sqft isolated building assuming you can't pull powerr form somewhere. Would it be a small portable generator?

Depending on how long you need it. A 12 volt battery might work fine.
Be careful with heat because of the horses, if any.

I appreciate the humor guys but some serious answers would be nice..

You didn't really give much information about power needs. If the structure is going to end up with permatent power then a temp. power pole or temp panel feed underground may be the thing. The length of time the power will be needed is a consideration. For a few days a generator is nice but not for the long run.

I have had to install a temp power pole just for a guy selling Christmas trees. He had lot of lights and a generator would have cost a fortune.
