My jurisdiction is revisiting their temp perm or 30 day temp power. minimum requirements. Right now it is (1) service to code, and A/H and A/C' breakers installed only in the panel boards with one 110v and/or one 240v gfci protected outlets. (for wood floor sanding and wood trim work.)Or, (2) The entire job completed with the exception of some missing fixtures etc. (you know homeowner supplied stuff and how that goes.)We are tring to find out what other juresdictions require and should we be including or excluding anything from what we require for this application may it be proceedures and or requirements. (And yes please leave out code data we are set with plenty of that info). We are looking for minimum and max requirements. We would appreciate any and all imputs. you may e-mail me directly if you wish.
Thank you for your help :p

Here in Michigan, in my jurisdiction, we follow Article 305. Article 305-3 Time Constraints, during the period of construction. There is not a time constraint during construction for temporary wiring. :)

Re: Temp perm. power/30 day temp power

In our city we follow article 527 of the 2002 NEC. The problems we have are people removing the gfci for the 240volt circuit. We also allow for permanent power, but require a bond ($500 for contractor, $2,000 for owner-builder) that is given back when the job is completed. Our reason is that too often, once the meter is set the items from a final inspection don't get taken care of. Our policy is if you move in early, we keep the bond.

Thanks I was really wanting to know what part of the job do they require to get power. What reasons, like for wood flooring, elevator equipment, etc. thank you for the info on bond money that may come in handy. I will also be contacting Florida, power and light for input from them. Keep those cards and letters coming.
