I'm working on job where we are running some temp. power for some mobile homes on a sales lot. There is a total of six homes they just need enough power to run some lights in each home. We are installing three sub panals in different areas of the lot,two homes off of each one. I plan on putting single outlets under the panals. now my question is what type of extension cord should be used to connect the homes any advice would be appreciated!

I generally feed these sales models from a 50 amp, and run #6 SO cord, and wire them directly to the mobile home panel.

Thanks for the reply! I like the way you explained, but the job is set up with 15-20amp 120v outlets to feed the homes and regular extension cords for cost reasons. I dont like the way its set up and not sure if its legal, but i might talk to them about running 50amp and so cord!

Here, they like to be able to run some heaters in the homes in the winter.

They choose some plug in type heaters, or I'll stage down the furnace. It sucks to be shopping for a home and while walking through, find out that they are in fact, iceboxes.

But in Florida, the circuit you have in mind to operate some lights, should work just fine.
