Temp power poles

Under the 2020 NEC is a disconnect means and exposed lug protection required for a 6 circuit MLO 3R enclosure?

230.71 (B)

Building up some new temp poles and have several of those enclosures to use.

Thanks

That section in the 2020 prohibits the use of the MLO panels with multiple service disconnects in the panel.

Yes just land on the MLO lugs. MLO service panels aren't prohibited, just having more than one handle installed in them is. There is 230.62, but those don't have to be manufacturer provided.
Then what serves as a main disconnect?

A disconnect means ahead of the MLO panel?

So you can only supply one circuit with that method...never seen a temporary power panel with a single circuit.
All of the exposed bus as well as the termination points would have to have barriers.
230.62(C) Barriers.
Barriers shall be placed in service equipment such that no uninsulated, ungrounded service busbar or service terminal is exposed to inadvertent contact by persons or maintenance equipment while servicing load terminations.

Seldom, if ever, need over 120V for a temp pole. The temp is just for workers to plug 120V equipment into, such as air compressors, saws, etc.
I have several contractors I do work for who use 240V 40/50 amp dehumidifier’s on site.

Also a few insulation contractors that need power for their cellulose and spray foam applications.

A coupke of those run about 70A 240V.

I set up temps with capability of 100A

Power Co. is notorious for taking forever to get house power established.

I’ve had new builds go right to the finish having to utilize the temp power.

Obviously it depends what you need. For many of us, we have these already set up based on the old rules. I make them work under the new rules by just using only one breaker feeding a MWBC. If they need more power than that, I can throw another breaker and circuit in after inspection.
