What code would prevent me from running an 1 1/4 schedule 40 conduit on top of the ground for a 100a temporary connection for possibly 2 years as construction progresses?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

IMO, if the PVC is protected from damage then I don't see a violation however I would not leave a conduit just sitting on the ground for 2 years. What is the surface? Can you trench it in?

It is a highly wooded and brushy area and the owner does not want to disturb the plants and such. But wants to use the overhead temporary construction service to back feed a detached garage 100' away.

I would drive a few support stakes and strap the pipe to it and be done with it. If it is out of the way it should not be an issue.
