Temperature Transmitter Wiring

Does the wire between the +V wire connection from a 24vdc power supply to the + connection of a temperature transmitter need to be blue? Can the black (+) of a shielded cable be used instead?

There is no such requirement found in the NEC to my knowledge.

The is no standard for instrumentation wire color other than thermocouple wire.
In my experience, black(+) and white(-) is most common, meaning I have run into many installations the exact opposite.

Thermocouple standard color applies to this country. Be aware the standard color codes are different in other countries.
