Temporary Cord

Hi guys , Looking for direction here---Does the NEC specify ampacities of cord ? I'm looking for cord that will safely handle 3 phase 150a/240v w/neutral and ground conductors serving a panel for a 3 day festival. this cord is protected at its supply with 150a cartrige fuses but the load will only be 110 +/-5a . Asked a supplier for a 1/0 cord for the application but he came up with a mining cable 3 inches in diameter and 9 lbs per foot. :)

Re: Temporary Cord

Why not use some SER cable and protect it with conduit or make some protection for it with dimesional lumber and plywood?

Any cord in that size is going to cost a fortune, and most suppliers will not have it in stock.

1/0 SER is what we are doing now but only protected from a box in the grass to a point about 7 foot in the air. The AHJ would like us to change the SER to a cord or take it under the parking lot to a box near the panel. Hate to put anything in the lot that only has perimeter lighting (because of the work involved and someone will probly hit with a car anyway). Been using this SER for 10 years and even though we take care of it the jacket is showing its age thats why we are asked to replace it.

Theres got to be something out there that can be used its only a three day Church Festival although safty is #1.
