Tennessee Licensing Requirements

In the state of Tennessee, I understand that they offer a basic license, called a Limited Licensed Electrician (LLE) that allows a person to work on projects under $25,000 in value. However, I see that it is not acceptable in counties that have their own codes office, such as Knox, Davidson, and a few others. Suppose someone had an LLE and wished to work in Knox County. What other requirements would need to be met?

I can't speak for Knox but I believe their approach is identical to Hamilton County and Chattanooga in that a LLE is of no value. An applicant must pass one of the contractors tests given by the jurisdiction or possess a valid TN State CE (full contractor with electrical certification) license.
(Part of the problem might be that many LLE licenses were grandfathered in without any testing required)
