terminal housing of recessed luminaires

what is the terminal housing of a recessed luminaire? Does the code allow a person to run 3/8 flexible metal conduit from a junction box supplying the lighting circuit to the feed through box on a recessed incandescent light fixture?
 
Check 348.20 (A) (5) which takes you to 410.77(C) . This is out of the 2002.

Also 348.20 (A) (2) (c) again sends you to 410.67(C)
