If you were doing a kitchen over and the old light that was in the center of the room had a BX or AC cable. And now your going to run all new circuits to the new lighting in the kitchen. and all you want to do is terminate the old AC or BX cable in the junction box on the new recessed Can. Is that ok or is there some kind off temperture rating between the two? I know that all cans have a thermal protector and all the cans i use are IC rated and Air tight /energy Eff.any thoughts or any inspectors question any one if they did this? Thanks:roll:

The JB on a recessed can not be used -- there is a temp. restriction in the jb of 90C, at least for Halo cans. If the bx is the end of the line I would find where it is feed from and disconnect it. You can throw a jb on it with cover if you want but you don't need to worry about it.
