Terminating type TC Cable at Equipment

I am looking for NEC requirements related to the use of fittings when terminating TC cable into the top of the equipment. We have a supplier who's standard practice is to use a non-metallic bushing and route whatever number of cables will fit thru the bushing from the cable tray.

It seems to me a connector should be used to provide strain relief for the conductors and prevent entry of dust, dirt, etc. into the equipment.

Any help or comments would be appreciated.

The issue is not the available of connectors, but whether they are required by the NEC or UL. See my original post.

  • Connector to be approved for the purpose(single v.s. multiple), also connector installed per manufacturers' instructions
  • Connector to maintain the environmental rating of the enclosure (NEMA3R, etc.)
  • Connector to provide strain relief.
