Customer wants me to install Tesla charger she sent me the paperwork and it says Max 32 amp breaker what are you guys doing running number tens with 30-35 breaker or number 8 with a 40

If it says max breaker, then you need 30a on #10; if that's the full current, then 40a on #8.

It's usually the latter in my experience with car chargers.

Ya i jsur left there it's max current so #8 on 40a breaker is where I'm going

Out of curiosity, is this a NEMA receptacle installation, Tesla Wall Connector, or something else?

I think you are misreading something. The Tesla standard mobile charger, that comes with the car has a max 32 amp OUTPUT. It plugs into a NEMA 14-50 receptacle connected to a 50 amp breaker. You need to size everything at 50 amps.

All the optional Tesla charger adapters match up with standard NEMA receptacles and branch circuits sizes.

Read the first *note under the table.

Seems that 40 amps should be acceptable.
