Tesla wall connector with load management

Hi Everyone!

We install a lot of Tesla wall connectors and other chargers. And recently we started installing them with Neurio active management controller which adjusts Wall Connector output to keep the panel load under 80%.
I feel like inspectors are a bit afraid of something that they haven't seen before and I just got a correction for 2 things:

1. Provide load calculation for the panel (which obviously will show overload without the device).
2. He said that we can't use the main panel as a j-box.. That's something new to me.. We installed a sub panel to free up some spaces and extend the wires to move few of the breakers there.. He said that we can't have wire nuts/extensions in the main panel..

I would really apreciate an advice to how I should approach this inspector.. We usually installed DCC shedders, but those are a bit more expensive and turn off chargers completely which is not ideal in some scenarios.

Thank you so much guys!

The second item is an easy code citation, ask him to look at 312.8. Apply a label to make him happy. Very out of date to call that out.

As far as the main issue of the load calc, maybe someone else will have a code citation but I think that may be a much stickier issue.

Thano you so much for your responce! We're on 2023 at the moment

With load shedding device like DCC inspectors also had to learn for a while, but after some time it got better. But with load management devuce not sure if I can call it a shedder to explain it to them..
