This question was on my exam i took today.
Type mc cable is allowed in all of the following except:
a cable tray
b signal circuits
c wet location
d pools
test was based on 2002 nec. I thought it could be used in all of these locations but I guessed wet location. What do the experts say?

What stands out in my feeble mind is that a, c and d are all 'locations', while b is a 'method'.

680.21 (2002) mentions M.C. cable listed for the location.
edit to add;
Though I've never seen M.C. in a pool

If I had that exact question and answers on a test, I'd probably answer "C" only because MC in a wet location has "stipulations".
But, IMHO, as worded, it is not a good question.

So does (A) & (C)-- they both must be identified for use in those areas. The signal circuit is the only one without stipulation.

Thanks Dennis
Taught me something "C" was my guess, as far as "A", when I looked at 392. it stated "MC" as being approved, but 330 does say "idntifed for"... new to me.. (For referecne all MC's I checked were "identifed for cable tray".
