Can anyone open this hand-drawn schematic?
This photobucket thing is killing me.

Yeah, that's the prototype drill shut off. The lamps act as a constant current source for the relay. A 20 vac hefty xformer, lightly loaded, puts out 24 v.
So, photobucket works for me, now. Watch out, world!

design defect?

design defect?

Estimated lamp life in this thing is 70 hours.

I'm thinking of a label saying "occasional use only. Not for industrial or commercial applications."

Hot with 24 vac. I think the lowest voltage anyone ever died from was 47 volts, in the Navy.

I was going to do this with electronics; the same parts cost, no lamp life problem, zero voltage at the drill bit -- but op amps and comparators are sensitive to the interference that motors with commutators give off. And the thing would need a metal (vs. plastic or wood) box, for shielding purposes. Not to mention that the schematic of the thing would not be "intuitively obvious."

You're right.

All kinds of problems are falling out of this thing.

Nothing that a rum and coke can't solve.

Also, the reset button is supposed to be across the coil. Man, I'm already up to my neck in lawsuits, recalls, etc..

It's too bad that The Three Stooges are out of business; I'd ask if they need any help.

I know! I'll run for public office!
