How do you test fo ampere on a bus bar, when you have 120/208 volt switch gear, and the meter socket are rated to 100 amp and the service company tells you to install a 200 amp main breacker ..... by the way the switch gear it's a Rayco, I dont think I can find a 2 pole 200 amp able to feed an existing sub panel............ Thanx Alex

Going to assume the gear is RYCO, why not contact them?

I don't understand why you need to test for amperage on the busbar

If you want to know what it is rated for, 1000A/in? of cross sectional area is a good approximation.

Installing a 200A service disconnecting means where any of the following are rated 100A is a code violation: 1) connected service [if under NEC] and service entrance conductors or feeders, and 2) other connected equipment without other overcurrent protection means.

PS: Welcome to the forum(s)....
