I'm interested in taking my journeyman electrical exam for licensing. However, I live in Illinois and they offer a state exam. Can I take the licensing exam through NEC for licensing? Thanks!

Are You sure ?
Illinois

No statewide licensing of electrical contractors or journeyman is required, but there is separate licensing required for any firm that installs or maintains fire and burglar alarm systems. Contact the Illinois state Fire Marshal’s office for licensing information.
