  I just pasted my Texas master exam after my second try and thought I give everyone that is interested some of the things on my test. Your test might be total different. There was alot of questions on wire sizes to pipe and wire ampacity questions. There was alot of hazardous location questions. There was alot of motor question. Most of the calculation was not real hard and there was only 3 big calculation on dwelling I would do them last and only do them if I had time. I took my test on the computer one thing I noticed this time I didn't know the last was they give the PIE chart in the legend you can find it before you start the test and use it if you need it. I hope this helps some. Steve Thanks Mike Holt for your free online test I think they helped tooo.

Congratulations, Master!

Here's the question I'm interested in--If you used Mike Holt's NEC Exam Textbook, how well did it prepare you?

Again, congratulations.

Thanks

Thanks

I bought the Snapz Software. While I think it did help some I'm not going to recomend it. I think I would have spend my money with Mike's CD or his book. I did buy an online test of Mike's and it helped some too. I guess the big thing is study study study. Steve

Help Me!!! (texas Icc Master Exam)

Help Me!!! (texas Icc Master Exam)

Congrats to all who have taken and passed the Texas ICC Master's test. I have taken this test 3 times and the 3rd time I felt ready for it. It is HARD. I am looking forward to getting some study aides. I do not have $500 to spend on a dvd library, much less $700-$1000. I can probably spend close to $200.

My question is: What are the BEST materials out there I could buy to help me study and pass the Texas ICC Master's Exam?

I need something really good. Please be specific. Thanks. sparky723

I just passed the Texas State Master Electrician exam......I must say I have taken several Master Electrician exams in other States and this one is a tough, but fair exam....

Sparky723,

I would recommend Tom Hendry's course on Motors and Transformers and Mike Holts Electrical Calculations......along with a course on blue print reading...... you could do all that for under 300 dollars

Don't give-up.....Gook Luck

The second time I took the test I acted like I was out of time to begin with. That give me about 20 minutes to work on the print part. The question are not all that hard on those prints I just didn't have time to answer them the first time. I consider myself pretty good at reading prints and these really suck. Good Luck Steve

SGR1,
I must agree, the plans could be designed better.....But hey, if they give those licenses away they wouldn't be worth much either...

question for sgr

I'm preparing to take my master exam in texas.I read the mike holts prep book, and also took a local course. The instructor told us at the course that if a question was stated WHAT SIZE THWN WOULD BE THE MINIMUM FOR A 50 AMP MOTOR.that we needed to use the 75 degree columb because they gave us the insulation but mike holts book and the code says use the 60 degree columb if over 100 amps and the terminal rating isn't given.any suggestions

If it gives you the type of insulation then I would think you would have to use that column. The 75C copper column.
