Please someone give me some pointer on the last 10 question on the test. The plan reading. I can read a blueprint with the best of them but this has got me all twisted up

It's been over twenty years since I took the Master's test in Texas. It was for Dallas. I do remember that it was tuff. The best thing that you can do for any test is to study hard and go in calm. Do something relaxing the day of the test. Go in with a good attitude. Good luck Thomp

You need to be a little more specific.

Thomp - I think the current state test is different, the old Dallas city exam was given by SBCCI. I took it back in the early 90's and it did have a number of questions at the end on print reading. But 2 or 3 questions were about things that werent on the prints, I guess a misprint or something. Nothing you can do about questions like that but guess, and be sure you answered enough others right so that a few screwball questions wont make you fail.

I took that exam last year but don't recall what the specifics were. It seems that most of the last 10 were calculating wire sizes of different components of the systems.

What specifically are you having trouble with?

Hi

Hi

I took the the test test for the second time on 4/30/08 and passed. I consider myself good at reading prints too. The first time I ran out of time on the prints. I have seen alot better prints. You need to get through the rest of the test and have enough TIME too look at them. I can't rembemer the exact questions but one was on a motor on the outside of the building and they give you the HP and the phases, you had to look up the amps and give the wire size. I want to say it was easy to find the motors inside the building and a little tougher to find the ones on the outside. The main thing is to have enough TIME to look at them. I would take it again as soon as I could if I was you. Good Luck Steve
