I just got back from a week vacation in Jamaica. 
I had a great time, and saw some interesting things.
I did see some very interesting electrical things, too. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures to show for example.
I know we as installers complain about the 'hoops' that the NEC makes us jump through. Then of course there is the inspectors, AHJ's, insurance companies and so on.... They can also make us feel like a toy dog in a circus act, sometimes.
BUT, when I look at how wiring can be without any kind of supervision or code, the thought is scary.
Thank God we have the NEC.
