I have been doing residential work since 1983 first in Pa now in Fla.
In Pa we used aluminum #8 seu cable for 3 prong 50 amp range plugs fused at 40 amps for years .since in Fla. I have used #8 copper nm romex fused at 40 amps . I caint find it but i could swear i read a code that said nothing smaller than #8 could be used in residential wiring .I assumed it was because #8 and larger is allways Lug conected as opposed to screw connections .
did i dream this or is it a change from an older code or what? please help.
