Is a bar considered another kitchen area?
If you already have 2 kitchen circuits in the house, do you have to supply 20 amp circuits to the bar counter top receptacles?

I'm going with: NO

Based on what you have told us, it's a bar.

I don't see how that makes a difference?

Right now...it's simply a bar.

The '08 has a new entry in Art. 100.....Kitchens. So an inspector, working in the '05, may consider the bar a kitchen.

Working in '05 as permit was pulled prior to adoption.

As per 08- it has a sink, disposal, dishwasher, fridge, counter top- so it is a kitchen.

As per 05- I don't have an '05 code book handy, so was wondering if as described in 210.52 (C) in the 08 - similar areas - is in both books.

Does "similar areas" also encompass the LR?

Similar areas, as it pertains to countertops under the heading for 210.52.(C)
