The article basically states that many pay-at-the-pump gas stations are operating on older systems, and as a result credit card information could be stolen when you swipe your card at the pump.

(And to think, one of my gripes to my wife is having to pay cash for gas - Prepay means I have to walk into the gas station twice, where she gets to swipe her card and be on her way! )
