What is the most probable future of conductor properties?

Better conductors or Better insulation?

I have read alot on both superconductor technology and heat resistant insulation advancments, however neither seem to be close to application at this time.

Whats your say?

Re: The Future of Conductor Properties

I think you will see more aluminum in the future and copper is not going away. You will see better insulation but the exotic metals will not be used as conductors for building wiring. Super conductors need to be kept too cold to be useful.

I can see the use of high temperature terminations and devices so the 90? C and 105? C temperatures may be a factor. However, with the loss of heat from the higher temperature and the excessive voltage drop, I don't see that as being practical to develop.

This could be in interesting thread. :D
