Ok i have only done about a couple hundred homes but please someone tell me if i am wrong. I am arguing with the garage door installer the other day because he places his brackets exactly right over my lighting outlets. I measured and came back a whole 11 feet. usually guys will only come 9 to 10back and get caught. I think they place it there because they think that is where it goes. I asked the guy why he places the brackets so far back and over my boxes and he says o it's no big deal i thought they were smoke detectors?????????????????????????????? I lost it. then it was on. Please tell me i am wrong or if i am not then next time i will come back 13 feet. wow. that's rediculus.:confused:

10' back and 1' off center and you should never get covered. That's for a standard 7' door. That will put both of you on the truss. If using trusses.

Mest time you place the lighting where the plans call for it, we work off the plans. and if there are no plans then we will submit a copy of the layout and have the owner approve the location, before the work proceeds. everything in writing, then you always to go to court, with all the paper work.

That's what I was thinking: move to the side a bit instead of straight back a lot.

I've always thought that when watching cheesy old monster movies: why do people run straight ahead in front of the monster for a mile instead of to the side for 50 feet?
