I got my results from the masters exam and I didn't pass. I found the areas I'm weak in is Communication systems, and Fire Alarm Systems. Does anyone know of study material I can use that covers these topics? Any ideas on what I should be studying for this exam?

I don't know what it cost you, but sure as h*ll don't let that discourage you. Go after it full speed. What kind of questions were asked on FA and Telcom that you didn't understand?

Discourage me? H*LL NO! I'm taking it again next month and I will pass it. I'm looking for a new strategy. Any ideas?

At least you can take it every month. There's localities around here where you can only test once or twice a year. If you're having a rough go, it can take you years to get your ticket.

What about a couple of links Marc? I'm not a construction guy, I am clueless to codes in that area. Can you reference him in the right direction? Sounds like he wants to pass quickly, do you have some good suggestions??

Good luck Ice. I was surprised by how many questions there were on fire alarms when I took the test a couple of months ago. As boring as it may be read EVERY word of the the articles. The answers are there.

may i suggest that if you take all the books on the list, you know their contents pretty well. The guy sitting next to me @ my test had every allowed book on the reference list, tabbed, and didn't finish the test because he spent all his time looking through those books for the answers while I cruised right through with the NEC and Ugly's book. Study the TOC so you don't waste time.

Study the table of contents and the indexes of any book you're allowed to take into the test. The key to passing tests is less about actually knowing the stuff and more about how to find where the information is. That's my theory, anyhow.
