If you discovered you were bidding a commercial job where the bidding ended a month ago, would you continue to bid the job?

Say the supply-guy let you know he'd already bid the service gear for it a month ago.

Definately, they may not have liked the first few bids. If they're accepting, I'm bidding

They may have gotten bidds that were all over the place - then upon review - decided to get some more to help them decide - or see who was starving more than they were before...

Is this a public works project?
if so sounds like bid shopping or peddling. What I mean is that the GC already has the job now he's looking to save money. If it is not much trouble to bid go ahead. The GC might just be using your price to grind the sub already hired. I've seen this before.
Again if no trouble to bid go for It.
