I recently installed a hot tub; I didn't know the plug already comes with a GFCI built into it so I bought a AFCI breaker thinking it was a GFCI breaker.
(Christmas shopping on my mind) So now I have a 20A AFCI breaker and as I said the tub already comes with a GFCI built in the plug.
I need to add a breaker for the tub so my question is can I use the AFCI breaker I bought even if the tub comes with a GFCI. 1-will this still work without problems, 2-does it give me added protection, 3-is there any violation of code. If you can answer this please state if you are a licensed Electrician for NYS, I live in Dutchess County.
Thanks!
