My faith in humanity has been revived a a bit lately, and let me tell you it's been in a real crappy place.

Had a landscape contractor who I priced some work for at a large remodel I was wiring call another guy for a price for some of the outside work. Without going into details it was a real low way to go about what she was trying to do. Anyway the other guy called me and told me what was going on. He said no way would he do that to me and we have to stick together on things like this. I hardly even know the guy and would not have faulted him for taking the work.

Another contractor I recently did some work for pulled a simillar deal. He called a friend of mine however, and my friend told him no way. The guy asked my friend if he was going to call me to tell me what happened and of course my friend said yes and called.
That contractor promotes his business as an honest upstanding hometown contractor. The reality is his work is garbage and he wants nothing more than to avoid permits and doing things correctly. He also has no problem with his guys doing electrical work. Not someone I want to work with anyway.

Next case....I was out running today when a major thunderstorm rolled in. Two people actually stopped to see if I wanted a ride home. I didn't take the ride and I lived through the storm though it would not have been a surprise to have drowned with the amount of rain that was comming down.

Minor issues in the grand scheme of things but it is nice to see there are some good people out there still. :)

Scott, I actually think there are more good people than bad out there, unfortunately the bad gets the press, thanks for an uplifting thread.

Scott, if it were me driving by you and it was raining I would have waited till there was a nice puddle next to you and then whizzed by. ;)

Seriously, I totally agree with Roger. Sometimes you get a bad run on seeing the bad and everything looks down. I am glad you got the uplift you needed.

There are many good people

You either misunderstood Scott's post, or you are out of your mind.

Scott
It is always a relief to personnally experience what good people can do. I also agree with Roger that there really are many more good than bad people.
I hope this experience brings you good things for the rest of the year.

And I have a word for you. Since it would be deleted I'll go with a different word....dictionary, look up the word collusion, which you probably should have done before you shot your mouth off with nonsense.

Collusion? I thought that is what you would have called it, if the car didn?t stop but just ran over you? :D

Actually, ?collusion? would be more like two general contractors secretly agreeing to bid the same job at a high price, so that the owner will not know he could have gotten it done cheaper by offering it to someone else. If a single GC asks for a price from two or more ECs, that is just competitive shopping.

Let?s keep it friendly here.

A few years ago I was working on a large remodel/additon at a locally owned lumber hardware type store, similar to a HD. I believe the service was 1500 amp 120/208. An out of county wholesaler who had never called on me and did not have a local store tried to sell direct to my customer. The managers discussed the situation and rejected his offer.

One sent me an extra $5 cash tip. Another happened to find my work jacket on the road, an invoice with my name was inside. He had the jacket dry cleaned then called me.
