Does anyone out there have knowledge of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) cable jacketing in terms of durability?
The AWM cable we have on site has a TPE jacket. Even though AWM is not a NEC recognized wiring method the TPE jacket provides good protection for insulation.

TPE is just a type of plastic. It comes in many variants all with different hardness and abrasion resistance. I have TPE jacketed cable that is rather hard and is pretty tough, and i have TPE jacketed cable with the properties of a wet noodle. Note that is thermoplastic not thermoset so its properties will change with temperature.
