Thermostat Wire in ductwork

I don't have the 2005 code book, (just a general contractor)....

My HVAC contractor has asked about T-stat wiring in ductwork. He has referenced NEC 725.4 / 300.22

Can someone review this and copy me?

Basically, it can't be in the duct unless it is required to be in there to actuate the air in the duct.
