Those new "portable" hot tubs people are buying at Costco and Sam's Club

I am getting a bit confused once again by the mighty code. A certain long while ago , probably the 2008 NEC 680.26 (B) (2) Perimeter Surfaces used to say in first sentence Pool, spa, or hot tub. Later versions seem to have dropped Spa and Hot Tub from the sentence.

I am dealing with 2 different jobs right now with outdoor hot tubs and am more than a bit confused whether the equipotential bonding grid and the perimeter part is still required or not, but am thinking they just removed the specific words Spa and Hot tub from the sentence but require them still elsewhere.

Both of these hot tubs are the plug into a gfi outlet with the supplied factory attached cord setup and are considered portable spa's. I assume the internal bonding of pump motor to incoming water supply is still required as is all metal within 5 foot if not separated by a wall, but how about the grid under the portable hot tubs? We did this big jump from 2008 to 2017 Nec and I probably missed a bunch of new codes in the interim as well. I believe the water is not connected but they are filled with a typical hose.

I have a portable hot tub, evergreen hot tub, it pulls 9 amps, plugs into GFCI (of course). I read thru 690, no special bonding required. This tub weighs 90 pounds empty, uses the heat from circ motor to heat water, $5 extra on power bill.
