I have never seen threaded EMT and I imagine this is why.

358.28(B) Threading. EMT shall not be threaded.

Exception: EMT with factory threaded integral couplings complying with 358.100.

Frank, I haven't seen EMT like that. The next closes to that would be IMC conduit that you can thread.

EMT is too thin to be threaded.

Plus if you threaded it, by definition, it would stop being EMT.

Electrical Metal Tubing (EMT). An unthreaded thinwall raceway yadda yadda yadda.
