Can someone tell me about a electric panel i came incontact with , the readings i got were , from L1 - GROUND 0 VOLTS . FROM L2 to GROUND- 480 , FROM L3 to GROUND- 480. and from any two legs you get 480. what type of service is this.

can 3 phase 480 volt motors be used with a corner grounded system?
because on that system one phase is 0 volts and a 3phase has 3 legs with voltage. thanks

Yes, motors are designed to run on this type of voltage (corner grounded delta)

A Volt meter may tell you there is 0 volts from the grounded conductor to "ground"( an arbitrary reference that the motor never sees). The motor only sees line to line voltage, and if you check, you will likely find:

VL1-L2 = 480V
VL2-L3 = 480V
VL3-L1 = 480V

Therefore all three phases are "hot".
