Hey Guys
Involved in a flood job after a recent storm
The feeders from the pad mount transformer to the main switch were under water,
the 10 sets of conduits were fill up to the bushing with water 300 foot run
The feeders are THHN/THWN2 I do not think they are rated for full submersion in salt water
They want to mega and if the pass they want to re use feeders
We are taking the stance that once in contact with salt water they need to be replaced

thanjs in advance for your thoughts

If the terminations weren't submerged and aren't corroded then the conductors may still be good. The first thing to do is test them with a Megger. If they fail then you will know that they need replacement and arguing whether they can stay or go will be moot.

It seems to be unclear on wet locations And cables that have been submerged
If you read on marinas there not using thwn2/ thhn this pad mount was submerged
they are talking about the terminations being above water and sealed
It's seems AHJ have different opinions on salt water I agree mega is test at that time but water about over time

the service equipment mounted exterior higher than pad mount height
We replace all line and load feeders from main switch through all meters and disconnects 2 weeks after the flood
the water was still pouring out of the cables

It really comes down to what will happen after these cables pass a Megger test. If they all test good then you've done what they asked you to do. If they fail in the future then that's on them not you.

Ultimately I agree with you I will probably just need to get something in writing Indemnifying myself myself on anything going forward

That's all you can really do. As I said prior if you Megger test and it fails then that changes the options.
