Evening folks,
Just a quick question for the keepers of fire alarm wisdom. Where oh where could I find awiring diagram for a 1985 Simplex duct detector housing? Apologies if this seems elementary to some of you, but I've traced an open on a loop to one detector, and have a suspicion that it was wired incorrectly to a test switch. Here's the thing, I haven't really had any formal fire alarm training, but it's too late to turn back. I understand the concept behind test switch wiring, but I can't check the faulty housing/detector/test switch against a good one because it is in an occupied office building, nearly impossible to get at smokes.
Appreciate any help, as always.

Thanks anyhow,
but a few more minutes with the multi-meter and I figured it out. Whomever had wired duct smoke initially swapped the (-) OUT with the (-) terminal for the test switch/led. the resulting open was fixed in the old panel 20+ years ago with a resisitor which made the trouble go away. Since system was wired class A, all test switches worked I suppose. The open only showed back up when we put the old loop on a new panel. Try to convince the maintenance electrician that it was screwed up, an excercise in futility I assure you.

Asta la pasta amigos...
