Does anyone have a brand of weatherproof timer that could be used for a 120V, 20A, 3 HP pool pump?

I have found some 20A but they are only rated for 1 HP @ 120V.

As always thanks

I think you are going to need to use a contactor. A 3HP single phase motor is going to be alot more than 20 amps at 120 volts. You are going to need at least a 45 amp circuit. See Table 430.228.

I have never seen a pool pump that large designed to run on 120 volts. Why not use 240 volts?

Sometimes you just have to do it yourself. I made it by the job site for the pool pump I have asked about.

I was told that the pump was 3 HP 120V, what I found was 3 HP at 240V.

Still looking for weatherproof timer to use.

The Pentair Suntouch handles up to 3 HP and can be installed in wet locations, but it is expensive. It's about $320.
