Timer/Tstat

I have a bathroom with a Nutone heat/vent/light/night light and the customer wants a tstat for the heat that also has a timer built into it.

Is there such a device?
I found a timer for the exhaust fan but not one for the heater.
The heater is an element and a fan.

I dont really understand why they would need a timer, if it is working on a thermostat....

They would like to set it like they would as if they were using the exhaust fan and the tstat would stop the room from overheating.

If they have kids thats probably to make sure it gets turned off,turn it up to 90 degrees take their shower and go.
I know my kids have no clue what the off switch is for.

Turning it off is Dad or Moms job. LOL

how about a spring wound timer feeding the thermostat? or if you want to get fancy, you could have a motion sensor feeding an adjustable time delay relay that feeds the thermostat.....

don't do a spring wound timer- do an electronic because I hate the sound of a spring wound timer switch.
I loathe spring wound timer switch sounds...

But I do agree with the method- cut in a thermostat above the switch and put it in series with the timer switch.

I personally think that unless this bathroom is the size of a very small cupboard that the thermostat will be redudantly useless with the timer being installed because it will never reach the temperature in which it should turn off within the 30 minutes it could be on maximum, but to each his own with his own pocket book.

As a side note- I think all bath fans should have a timer switch. People might actually be willing to properly dehumidify their bathrooms after a shower if they knew it would shut off after 30 minutes or an hour so it wasn't running all day...
