IMO, That c.b. is just fine for the disconnecting means.

You mean a heater with a breaker (disconnect ) already on it.
The manufactor saved us the trouble.

I agree with the others. The units cb is sufficient to be used as a disco

Thats what I thought however my partner was telling me about an inspector who required the disconect. His theory was that the breaker would shut off power to the load side of the unit but not the line side of the breaker. Thus the wires coming into the unit would still be hot. This made no sense to me so I wanted to get others opinions.

Well, I kinda feel the same way. If you look at it in terms of having to remove the equipment then someone would have to go to the panel to shut down the current, but if only looking at it to service the equipment then the "built in breakers" will suffice.
