So I've got the new tools. I think I have all the ranges covered. But if my inch pound wrench goes to 200 in/lbs, how do I convert 225 in/lbs to ft/lbs? I have found conflicting conversions on Google.

Hey Chris,
This is out of a torque manual I have here at home.
"If one remembers that this conversion is based on the fact that there are twelve inches to a foot, then it is evident that one foot-pound equals twelve inch-pounds and the following formulas may be written:

Foot-pounds X 12 = Inch-pounds
Inch-pounds / 12 = Foot-pounds

I guess there are no division symbols an a keyboard.

Rich.

Thanks Rich, thats what the gentleman that sold me the tools said. Sounds good to me. I Googled and got all kinds of crazy conversions. Keep it simple.

You can download a free conversion program from here that has conversions for almost anything that you can think of. I have a copy on all of my computers. Much quicker that using Google or other search engines.

Hopefully this will be helpful. Google itself has many unit conversions built right in. It takes an internet computer and a half second.

From your Google main screen, just type in

225 inch pounds in foot pounds
