I am praciting for an exam and need to find the total load for service for a home. The question is:

You are working on one-family dwelling with a 120/240 V service. The home has a 240-volt heat pump at 25 amps. The size of the home is 2200 SF, exclusive of...., a 10 kW range, a 5 kW water heater, a 1.5 kW dishwasher, a 1.3 kW compactor, and 18 kW of electric baseboard heat.

This is my calcuation:

3 x 2200 = 6600
1500 x 2 = 3000
1500 x 1 = 1500
= 11100
11100-3000 = 8100
8100 x 35% = 2835
3000 + 2385 - 5835
+ 5000 (water heater)
+ 1500 (dishwasher)
+1300 (compactor)
+8000 (range)
+6000 (heat pump)??
+ 18000 (electric baseboard)??
+ (do I multiply the largest motor by 25% and add????)

Now, do I include both heat pump and electric baseboard or omit the smallest?

In addition, must I take the largest motor and multiply by 25% to add for the total demand load? I am so confused on the NEC if every calcuation must have the largest motor multiplied by 25% and added to the total.

Thank you for your time in checking this.

That is one odd configuration for a house. Baseboard heat with a heat pump???? Anyway since the baseboard heat and the heat pump can come on together I believe you will need to figure them together.
