In my area we are still under '05' and not required to use TR receptacles yet. I have a customer with 4 small kid's and rather then them use external child proofing methods they are interested in TR receptacles (house under construction) The problem now is no one in this area stocks them so they need to be special ordered, OK no problem , until they quote them $8.29 each for leviton. Ouch, what are those of you who are required to use them paying ?

Wow.. keep shopping. I don't have that info at hand, but around $1.45 sticks in my head.

Location,Location,Location. I figured it would be something more down to earth in an area that is under 08', or near an area under 08'.

I agree $1.xx here also.

Don't forget the TR GFCI and weather resistant TR recep. ugh

I just noticed them on the shelf at one of the big boxes here a few weeks back, I dont remember the price, but it was really high, several dollars...

c10 dude - you probably got a price for a hospital or super spec grade. Make sure you are comparing apples to apples when you get a price. $1-2 is about what I'm seeing for resi grade.

I just completd a residential job of changing out all switches and 2 wire Recps on a 1950s house . I used P&S commercial grade devices including TR recps.
I purchased 60 cr15 recps,30,TR GFCI ,20-SP switches,35-3way,3- 4way,85-1gang plates,10-2 gang plates & 3-3 gang plates. total prices was $950.00. I had my supplier quote this job instead of using a off the shelf single itme price.

I had a quote of $11.45 for a single TR GFCI and $0.94 each on residential grade TR Recps.

I saw the TR recps at Home Depot for $1.99 each.

I would do a take off of all the devices need for your job and have your supplier qoute you the price as a whole. you should do better this way compared to quoting a single TR recps.
the Weather Proof Tamper proof GFCI are $13.26 each qouted per each from my supplier.

Good advise, I did have them quote 100 receptacles, I hope they made a mistake and quoted commercial grade receptacles. What is the P&S part number for the receptacles?
