Greetings all.
We get sales calls once in a while from these staffing places like 'tradesmen international' offering 'licensed electricians'.
I have known a few people whom worked for them, however I dont know any contractors that have used the service.
Anyone know how much they charge and what the catch is?
Thanks in advance.

I have used services like this several times when in a pinch. It was not worth it. Paying extra for "experienced" electricians..."mechanics"...got us men who had no more than a few weeks experience. The language barrier was a game ender. just my experience, other services may not be such a rip-off.

Interesting yeah they are advertising 'licensed' electricians, Inside wireman, lineman or marine.
Here on the west coast (CA,OR,WA,AK,HI) or possibly most western states 'inside wireman' is a state issued license. The journeyman test is not easy to qualify for or pass as I recall.
I would imagine they then have some qualified people (for a price).
Never herd of a marine electrician license. I imagine that's coast guard jurisdiction in US waters.

In my neck of the woods temp tech companies are not at all what they claim to be. They charge for "journeyman Level" electricians that are unlicensed. Apparently "journeyman Level" means they have worked at least 1 day on a commercial job.

If you need to hire a temp, insist on seeing the license just like you would an employee before you pay the rates. I would even interview the person when they show up to the job site and send em' back if they are not what was advertised. Otherwise you are likely massively overpaying for a green apprentice.

Numbers - Temp companies will charge around double the going Journeyman rate and try to send you a 1 year apprentice for it.

Thanks well that's two out of two saying they have no experience.
I am still curious what they actually charge since you cant find out unless you sign up.

They are figuring that if you are desperate enough to sign up to find out, you're, well, desperate...

Its one of those predatory sales callers they cold call us every once in a while. We get tons of sales calls. I wonder if anyone on here has actually gotten a licensed electrician from them.

It has been 5-6 years since I’ve used Tradesmen International. The experience I had using them was good. They sent some good competent workers when I needed them. I can’t give a fair assessment now because it’s been awhile since I’ve used them.

Well its the only real assessment so far since your the only one whom can confirm you actually used them.
That's helpful thanks.

They had a guarantee that if the person didn’t work out you could send them back on the first day and not pay anything. It was either a 2 hour or 4 hour guarantee, I can’t remember the exact details.
